Limited or No Use of Fossil Fuels
Fossil fuels are certainly not evil, however we at Gulf2Bay SoftWash have a desire to limit the consumption of fossil fuels for three basic reasons.
- To limit our nation’s dependence on foreign fuel oil sources.
- To limit our emissions of VOCs and other carbon gases.
- To embrace the development of alternative sources of energy.

Limited or No Use of Fossil Fuels
Volatile Organic Compounds better known as VOC’s are basically vapors in the air that are either pollutants, toxins or irritants. Though some of our solutions have scents added or might omit fumes while cleaning these compounds are measured less than one part per million (-1/1,000,000) within 50 feet of any surface we are cleaning. Because one of our core values is service we are sensitive to people with special needs within or close to our work sites. With appropriate notice, Gulf2Bay SoftWash is pleased to adjust work schedules or change solution formulations to accommodate the special needs of those who have chemical intolerances. Water Conservation
Pressure/power washers use from 3 to 8 gallons of water per minute (gpm). In one hour of cleaning a pressure / power washer can use from 180 gallons upwards to 480 gallons of water. Conversely soft washing will be only applying up to 60 gallons of cleaning solution, that is comprised of about 40 gallons of water, in that same hour. Then that soft washing solution loosens and dissolves mildew, bacteria, dirt and grime so it can be easily rinsed away with a garden hose. In fact many soft washed surfaces do not need rinsed after cleaning even further reducing the need for water during the cleaning. Good Stewards means Gulf2Bay SoftWash uses 1/3 the water of pressure / power washing.
12 Volt & Solar Powered Electric Equipment
Gulf2Bay SoftWash has made a significant investment in the development of alternative sources for powering our cleaning equipment. All of our SoftWashing cleaning equipment is powered by a bank of 12 volt DC batteries. Then this DC power is collected and stored in the systems 12 volt battery bank. With the addition of an DC to AC power inverter we are able to power rinse pumps and leaf blowers without fossil fuels. Biodegradable Cleaning Solutions
Gulf2Bay SoftWash uses SoftWash Systems chemicals for soft washing your property. These chemicals have been completely biodegradable since 1998, long before “green” was in fashion. Biodegradable means that our chemicals break down into carbon and water within twenty (20) days of their introduction into the environment. Our chemicals are water based and ship non-hazardous. Lasts Four to Six Times Longer Than Pressure / Power Washing
Pressure/power washing merely gives mildew and bacteria a hair cut. Because pressure / power washing only blasts away at the surface algae, fungus, mold, bacteria and viruses can reemerge from deeper in the crevices of the surface. You may have noticed than when you use pressure / power washing equipment that each time you clean the following cleanings are needed sooner and sooner. Gulf2Bay SoftWash equipment and chemicals treat mildew, bacteria and viruses like a pest not a stain, with a clean that lasts four to six times longer than pressure / power washing. Cleaner Surfaces Last Longer, Less Consumed – Less Wasted
Because soft washed surfaces suffer less destructive force as pressure/power washed surfaces the building materials last longer. Paint lasts longer, wood decks and fences last longer, stucco and EAFIS last longer. Longer lasting surfaces equal less in our landfills and a reduced need to replace materials prematurely. SOFTWASH SYSTEMS TIME PROVEN CHEMICALS
SoftWash Systems is very unique in the market place when it comes to soft washing chemicals. Our original soft washing additive Green Wash has been in use since 1994 (lovingly referred to as Duck Sauce) and has gone through several generational changes for the better through the years.
In 1998, the chemical make-up of our soft washing additive was changed to be completely biodegradable. This adjustment took phosphates completely out of our chemicals. Phosphates are what is added to most soaps to make them foam/create suds. Since 1998 all our chemicals have met the definition of biodegradable and they break down into carbon and water within twenty (20) days of their introduction into the environment.
By 2002, SoftWash had cleaned in excess of 55,000 roofs throughout Florida. Various surfaces had been cleaned using our soft washing additives without any kind of damages. Our soft washing technique and additives had cleaned surfaces like shingle roofs, tile, brick exteriors, EAFIS, membrane roofs, TPO, awning fabrics, concrete drives and walks, all without power washing any surfaces.
Now by 2017, SoftWash Systems soft washing equipment and chemicals have been used in 40 states of the US and 6 countries. Our in-network companies have cleaned in excess of 500,000 roofs and structures throughout the world and our products have been approved for use by major theme parks, property management companies, government buildings, installations, colleges and universities. To date there is no safer, better respected and more widely used soft washing products line available.
